No one predicts that the English could win this weekend.
I am in the same boat, all the reports I’ve read and seen over the last couple of weeks have all pointed to the fact that England, a once great rugby nation, have brought over a very weak looking squad for the three match series against the All Blacks.
Do England have a chance? Well, I guess any side has a chance on the day, but no, the All Blacks should dominate.
My opinion is it will be the typical first outing for the All Blacks. It will be what we see every year, a scrappy performance but a win nonetheless.
Just on a side note, while I am predicting that the All Blacks should blaze past England on Saturday night, I am a little disappointed that Beauden Barrett didn’t get given the starting role at Eden Park. The Hurricane first five has been in terrific form all season, arguably the best form of his career, but yet Aaron Cruden will start in this match after only two weeks back in the game following a long injury. Cruden is the first pick, that isn’t up for debate, but it would have been nice to see the selectors change things up a little, and maybe experiment with Barrett starting.
If there was ever a time to experiment with Barrett starting, it was this series against the English.
